My guess is that my birth mother was a teenager and left me at Catholic Charities in Newark NJ. She may have told no one about her pregnancy or that she had given birth to a child. In 1947 it was not acceptable to be pregnant and not married. Given my age, I doubt she is still alive, and may have never told anyone. I would like to know if I do have any family members.
