My mother was born in England and came to the United States with her mother when she was 2 months old. When my biological grandmother was to be wed again, her new husband to be told her to put my mother up for adoption which she did. My biological grandfather did not know of my mother and after the war returned home to North or South Carolina and got married and had 4 other children, I believe. My Grandmother put my mother up for adoption in Orange County, New Jerseys. She also lived in N.J, but the family was of means and traveled to visit family in Welch, England and then back home to New Jersey, U.S.A.
