I am desperately looking for my sister, who was given up for adoption a few days after her birth October 3, 1982 by our mother, Carla Murray, who was 21 at the time and from Endwell, NY (Binghamton area). The adoption was arranged by her OB, Dr Ruckert, and lawyer, James Townsend. She was born at Genesee hospital. My mother called her Angel while she was with her for the few days in the hospital before the adoption. She also nursed her to give her the best start. My grandmother (Patricia) handed off my sister to a family member of the adoptive family. My mother was told the adopted family was friends with Dr Ruckert, Catholic, from the NYC area, and the mother was a teacher. Although, after speaking with the doctor now, I’m not certain any of those details are true or not. He claims to have no recollection of the adoptive family details. My mother was pressured in to the adoption by her parents because they are Catholic and my mother was unmarried.
