My daughter was born in July of 1967 at Underwood Memorial Hospital in Woodbury‚ NJ. I believe I signed forms around Camden NJ accompanied by my father days later. I have no paperwork. My mother would not come. It was the HARDEST thing I have ever done‚ and I’ve been praying ever since that Heather Lynn Stanley (the name I gave to my daughter) would have a beautiful‚ happy life with a good‚ loving family (like my adopted older sister‚ Nancy‚ had in my family). I thought Heather was adopted right away‚ but I was contacted about 2 years later in Delaware by a lawyer (I think) who said I had additional paperwork to sign so her foster family (!) could adopt her. He said her father‚ John William Miller (who still lived in SouthJersey)‚ had to also sign. I was devastated to learn she had not yet been formally adopted yet‚ but my husband and I met the lawyer on the NJ side of the Delaware Memorial Bridge‚ so I could sign. Again heartbreak at wanting her myself mingled with hope and prayers that this would give my daughter the loving family she deserved. I hope and pray this has been the case. I have no paperwork. Heather’s father‚ John Miller‚ has contacted me about her‚ so I believe he is also hoping to find her.
