My father‚ the adopted‚ was named Donald George Harding at birth. His birth date may have been chosen rather than exact. He was placed in an orphanage for a few years in New Brunswick. He was later adopted on August 19‚ 1948 by William and Elizabeth Sampson and moved ro Nirthern Ontario. His named was changed to Donald William Sampson. He remembers a "Mrs. Cole" from the orphanage but not a name of the facility. It is possible it was the New Brunswick Protestant Orphans home. My father passed away in 2022. I'm hoping to find any relatives that may have known his birth family (siblings‚ etc). He recalled a family prior to placement in the orphanage‚ and possibly a cabin by a river with other kids and being fed fish which he disliked.
