My dad is Lebanese studying in London‚ around 1964-65‚ he met a lady by the name of Marian Hendiks (spelling could be wrong) who was about his age. She was originally from Netherlands. They fell in love at a young age‚ she got pregnant. Her family were conservative christians‚ they came‚ took her away and my dad has never been able to find her since. he had her address and drove to her town (he forgot where by now)‚ he called the house number and her parents scheduled to meet him at a coffee shop. they told him that she went into a church to become a nun and that he's not allowed to contact her. he was barely 19 and believed them. Now we know that this was probably not true. His gf told him at that time that she wanted to name the child hans‚ but again i'm not sure if in mid 1960's‚ they were able to tell the sex of the child. I asked chat gbt and it said that commonly during that time‚ the child would have been placed in adoption and the records are sealed. I tried to look for marian online using different spellings for the past years and so far‚ they tell me i have the wrong person or they don't respond. i'm at a loss on what to do. It is a sad story that was broken because of difference in culture and religion. the child might have some middle eastern features too and they might wonder why their parent let go of them. we wanted to let them know that my dad didn't‚ that he was lied to‚ that the child's mother was forced to be away.
