I’m trying to find out if my great grandfather was adopted. I’m pretty sure he was adopted. I think his last name before the adoption was Young. His full name was Edward Harvey Young McLaughlin. Adoptive parents would have been Melvin McLaughlin and Alice Stafford McLaughlin. Edward’s birthday was July 7, 1886. I think he was born in Helena or Billings, Montana. His wife was Susie M. Garlock McLaughlin and his son, my grandfather, was Paul James McLaughlin Sr.
