I was born in Springfield Illinois‚ St. John’s hospital in Sangamon County. Adopted through Catholic charities. My adoption was legalized in Missouri and my cirtificate was amended to show my adoptive parents as birth parents. I have since gotten a non ID birth certificate with my birth mothers name minus her middle initial or name and her age at the time and birth year. No father is listed. Her name is Elizabeth Schmidt‚ (name spelling hopefully correct as I don’t have info in my hands at the moment) born in 1945‚ age 19 when I was born. Been given the run around everywhere I call or told to go online and get what I am looking for since records have been opened. I would like to have some background family info and possibly meet family members. It is not right to have been kept in the dark all these years!
