The adopted person (my mother) was adopted from a home for unwed mothers. Her forename at birth was Alberta. She was adopted by a Mr & Mrs McGregor (or MacGregor). The McGregor’s moved to Bermuda where she was re-adopted at age 11 by Mr & Mrs Lightbourn. At some point‚ the Lightbourns arranged for a birth certificate to be issued with the Lightbourns identified as her natural parents as Dollie Katherine Lightbourn. Anecdotal Ancestry.com records imply that my mother’s birth mother is likely Leona Kerns (maiden name).
