I am assisting a birth mother who is in search of the daughter she gave up for adoption. The child was born on 10/17/1978 at the University Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. The birth mother was a resident at the Crestview-Crittenton Home of MS Children’s Society in Jackson. The child was listed as Baby Girl Yates during her stay at the hospital. She was picked up at the hospital by Mary Ann Everett, Adoption Consultant, Division of Social Services, State Department of Public Welfare. The pickup was authorized by Mrs. Linda West, Supervisor at the Crestview-Crittenton Home. The mother was sent to Jonesboro, Arkansas after the baby was born to live with relatives. I am guessing this authorized pickup meant that there was an adopted family waiting on the child, but I do not know this for sure. If anyone has any information that could assist me in this search I am not being paid for assisting in this search, nor do I know the birth mother personally. I had helped another adoptee and her adoptee brother find their birth parents last year. The birth mother is a friend of the adoptee, and after hearing how I had helped her and her brother, asked for my assistance. Any assistance that can be offered will be greatly appreciated.
