My grandmother Nancy Grace Archer was adopted about age 9 after both parents died. Possibly by relatives &/or by a family name of Seal or Seale or Seule. I believe she is Nancy Archey, the 9 y/o in the 1900 Census family name is Eziekle Seule and the other children are her siblings. I am positive of her brother’s name, Enoch. Perhaps Archey is her biological name and it was kept? She was married to Thomas Franklin Spires in Mississippi in 1913, had 4 children: Lawrence Clifton Spires, Carl Nathan Spires, Mary Elizabeth Spires, and Donald Gene Spires (my father).
