I am looking for my birth mother. I was born in Fort Frances, Ontario at Laverendrye Hospital. I was given up for adoption and was possibly in foster care for 4 months before my adoptive parents took custody of me in August of 1968. My adoptive parents are American and lived in Virginia, Minnesota at the time. I am trying to determine if my birth mother was American (which is what my adoptive parents were told) or Canadian. I was adopted through Catholic Charities but Catholic Charities in Duluth, MN states they have no record of my adoption. The only document I have is from an attorney in Minnesota who is no longer alive. I do have a copy of my birth record from Ontario, Canada which lists my adoptive parents names.
