The Children’s Home Society of Minnesota was the agency that I was adopted through. I was placed in the home of the Gutz family until I was adopted by Granville and Esther Tilghman. The Gutz family is white, I am African American as were my adoptive parents. My father before he passed away told me that my birth mother was a young teenage girl but he didn’t know much more about her.
