Hello, I am trying to locate my little brother. He was born 4/27/2007, in Monroe County, Michigan by my cousin. He was taken from her right after birth and was immediately placed in our care for almost 3 years. My parents were trying to adopt him, but were denied. We renamed him Jake. Not officially, but it was what we called him and the name we were going to change it to after his adoption was finalized with us. Technically he is my second cousin, but I have always called him my brother due to him being placed in our home within a week of his birth. The adoption was handled through Family Counseling and Children’s Services in Adrian, MI, since we resided in Lenawee county. There may have been some affiliation with Catholic Charities as well, but I can not be 100 percent sure. Once my parents were denied the adoption, I moved out and tried to adopt him myself. I was 18 at the time and met all the criteria to become an adoptive parent. However, after going through court proceedings I was denied as well. He was taken from our family two weeks before Christmas, December 2009. Which probably would of made final adoption proceedings to be in 2010. Please help in finding my little brother. The loss was completely devastating to our family and I would love nothing more then to see him and to make sure that he is being well taken care of by a loving and caring family. Some type of relationship with him would give us a great deal of peace, we wish nothing more but for him to be happy and healthy!
