My daughter was born in Carbondale or Marion, IL. Not long after she was born, her mother Dawn Traut, our daughter Renee Grace Traut, and Dawn’s children from previous relationships (Nathan Luckett, April Luckett, Heather Reynolds Granz, and Elizabeth Reynolds Granz) moved to Clarksville, TN where I had recently moved back to. Dawn eventually left me and took her kids, including Renee, with her to Lapeer, MI. I do not know all of the details, but somehow children services were called in to investigate her for child abandonment, or maybe it was neglect, stemming from being left without adult supervision for a period of time. This led to Renee being put in foster care and eventually to being adopted. Because of multiple reasons I was not able to fight for custody. She was around 2 years old the last time I held my little girl. From that day on I had a date set, March 25, 2021, the day Renee turned 18.
