The 1971‚ 256 S Grover Ave Alma‚ Michigan story. My Grandmother Dorothy M. (Lauer) Gawne had a long history of alcoholism. She had given birth to 9 children. My father being the oldest Victor A. Gawne born 1956. In 1971 he would be turning 14. In April 1971 baby Mark Gawne was found dead in his crib. Death due to neglect. The other 8 kids were placed in foster care to await for my grandfather Roger Johnson Gawne to return from Vietnam War‚ which he claimed the 3 oldest to be his children: Victor‚ Regina‚ Eugene. Duane stayed in child receiving home until he aged out. Nancy adopted out. Brenda(passed awat about age 8 due to liver failure) & Linda twins adopted out. Kevin unknown. Baby Mark passed away. My Aunt Gina recalls Kevin being between the ages of 2-3 1/2 and not sitting up on his own nor standing. All rest of kids have been located & have wonderful relationships with staying in contact. Kevin is our families missing link.
