I am the elder full birth brother (born 6/1962) of two males born from the same parents of the adopted female. The birth took place at a hospital in Niles, Michigan (Berrien County) which at that time would have been called Pawating Hospital. Birth would have been in the fall of 1963 or 1964. The birth doctor was Dr. Fattig (deceased) from Niles, MI and the attourney involved was Mr. Boothby from Berrien Springs, MI. The birth parents were Donald E. & Marita L. Keirnan also from Niles, MI. The adoption was performed through connections from members of the Seventh Adventist Church. The adoptive parents are understood to be connected to the Seventh Day Adventist Church as well and at that time may have resided from the Grand Rapids or Detroit MI area but not certain. The birth mother had been searching for the daughter since the mid 70’s but search has been cold since she was told that there was no record of such birth by the hospital or the County seat where records were kept. Birth mother has sinced passed due to cancer in July of 2012. Her wish was only to know that daughter was well taken care of and wanted her to know it was never the wish of the birth mother to put the daughter up for adoption but was forced against her will. I just want to make contact and let my sister know the true facts of her adoption and the rest of the family she has available to her should she may want to know. Thank you!
