I was adopted about 2 weeks after birth at Midland hospital in Midland‚ Michigan. My birth parents were Frank Shaffer and birth mother was Gladys McCann. I had no contact with either since both were deceased prior to my search. I have been in contact and continue to enjoy a relationship with my siblings and half siblings. My adopted parents‚ David Arthur Mapes and Lucille Geraldine Stear Mapes‚ are also both deceased. The social worker who served as the mediator and facilitator durin was a Miss Herber. I believe she may have worked for the Midland County Probate Court system in the 1840s and 1950s. I am seeking adoption records because I wish to add Canadian citizenship and seek a Canadian passport.
