I suspect my mother, Barbara Barker (who passed away last year), may have had a child and given it up for adoption when she was 17 or so. Her family in Florida, USA sent her to Ireland for a year between 1963-64. She stayed in the convent at St. Michael’s in Navan, Co. Meath in the care of the nuns, attending the associated school. It wasn’t a boarding school, so she lived with the nuns. If she did have a child, he or she would be my half sibling.
