I was born in Washington DC, but the adoption took place in Maryland, through social services. I was in at least one foster home and was also hospitalized as an infant with reflux and dehydration. I understand my birth mother may have been a professional (nurse) and already had a child or 2 and was unable to take on more. My foster family had other children, boys I believe.
