Our family is on AncestryDNA looking for you! My grandmother gave birth to a baby boy in Silver Spring‚ Maryland. I believe he was born within the first two weeks of April in 1966. He was born at Holy Cross Hospital. He was placed for a closed adoption through Catholic Charities in Montgomery County. He was taken by the adoption services the day after he was born. My grandmother was 19 at the time‚ as she was born in 1946. We were told that he may have been named Robert at birth after my great-grandfather and that he was possibly adopted by a couple who were both teachers. We are unsure if this is accurate‚ though. Unfortunately‚ we do not definitively have the names of the adoptive parents’ doctor or caseworker. I would be his niece—my mother is his half-sister. We understand that sometimes adoption paperwork reflects the date of finalization rather than the actual birthdate‚ so if you were born around this time or if you match any of these details‚ I’d be grateful to connect and compare history.
