I did not know until my mother died that I was adopted by her last husband. I know his name, date of birth and date of death. My adoptive father is dead as is my mother and my biological father. I was told that my adoption records are sealed and cannot be opened for 72 years. I am 71 and not in good health and I would like to see the contents of my adoption records. My original birth certificate should show my mother as Helen Cleo Jones, my father as Harry R. Swigert, my adoptive father as John Anthony Lynch. The adoption took place sometime after July, 1951 when John and Helen were married. I know where my biological father is buried, I have his death certificate but I can’t get any information without my original birth certificate. Can anyone help me? Phyllis Ann Swigert Lynch Uphoff.
