Our mother (English/ Irish) birthed a baby boy she named William James on May 11‚ 1968 at Grace Hospital in Winnipeg‚ MB. She was sent to Winnipeg‚ MB‚ to the Salvation Army’s Home for Unmarried Mothers‚ likely Bethany Home. She was forced to give her child up for adoption. Mother’s name: Eileen Deborah Millar (later married name: Cooke) Father’s name: Walter James/ Jim Cook (he later added ’E’) Our father (Ojibwe/ Cree) but I don’t know yet if he’s listed on the adoption record. A family member just recently told me of this child and of our mother’s wish to find the child before her death which unfortunately‚ she was unable to do.
