Born 25 May 1966 in Mtarfa‚ Malta. My Birth mother’s name was Christine Humphries. My original name was Karen Humphries. My adoptive parents were stationed in Malta. A Priest heard they were waiting to adopt and he approached them about my upcoming birth to an unmarried mother who had a father serving in the forces. I was separated from my Birth mother and placed with adoptive parents shortly after birth .My adoption was formalised in Newcastle-under-Lyme in 1967.My Adoptive mum travelled with me to the U.K for this as Dad was in the army. I am led to believe my Birth mother was 16 when she had me. She had a new partner who did not want someone else’s child.I was informed that my Birth mother’s family also did not want anything to do with me. I am aware contact with mother or maternal grandparents is unlikely‚ but would like to know if I have any half siblings. The identity of my birth gather was unknown or unrecorded.
