My 2 siblings and I were recently told that our mother, Lorraine Norton, had a child when she was a teen (possibly 17-19yrsold) that my grandfather, Ralph Norton, gave up for adoption. My mother may have been told that she had a miscarriage because she said that she had had a miscarriage prior to marrying my father and we just assumed that my father was the "miscarried" child’s father also. My mother did not finish her senior of high school and we were told that she had to quit to go to work. At the time, she lived with her parents in Portland, Maine.
