I’m looking for my mum’s birth family. She was born in Indore‚ India in 1946 at the time when the British Army (and I believe other allied armies) were stationed out there and it is rumoured that her birth parents were members of the armed forces there at that time. She was born two months early as she was due in the September of 1946 She was given to the local Catholic mission‚ the Church of St Francis of Assissi where the nuns took care of her until she was adopted fairly quickly by my grandparents (my grandad was in the British Army out there as well at that time) I’ve been told the orphanage where she was placed has since burnt down and there are no longer any records of her adoption. I appreciate her birth parents may no longer be living but I am hoping to find any other surviving family
