My name is Frances DeJean. I was adopted by Dutch immigrants Peter and Anna Terhoeve. They adopted me through Catholic Social Services and/or Catholic Charities. I was their second adopted child. I was 3 months old when they received me from St. Vincent’s Orphanage, a Home for unwed mothers located on Magazine Street in New Orleans, Louisiana. I would love to find my biological parents, grand parents, siblings, aunts, uncles or cousins, etc! The night they took me home, I was wearing a tiny blue and white beaded baby bracelet that had the name Bertilla on it. Still have it. curious to know if that name was given to me by the nuns.
