I am searching for adoption records of my kids great grandmother. She was Indian and the family told her that her tribe was massacred and they didn’t know where she came from. I believe that was a lie. I believe she belonged the the Jena Choctaw tribe in Louisiana. Her name was Bertye B. Williams her birthdate is listed as 4/22/1902 but that could also be incorrect. Her adoptive parents names were Robert Newton Williams (3/16/1879) and Ella Matilda Ogelsby (4/4/1881) They lived in Pollock Louisiana as of the 2010 census and listed Bertye as “white.”
