Hello I am an adoptee and may have found my birth mother per the group I have been working with to help me find her. I was born in May 1982 in Baton Rouge‚ LA‚ my birth mother is from Illinois and I have lived in IL since I was brought my parents 8 days after I was born. I was able to secure my original birth certificate and my birth mother’s name was Sue Lee McCarthy. She gave birth to my brother 2 years later (1984) in Elgin‚ IL. She was 19 when she had me and 21 when she had my brother. Thankfully my brother and I were able to grow up together as that was something that she wanted for us. According to my OBC my birth mother was born in Aurora‚ IL. Her married name is Bidgood and she now lives or did live in Sandwich‚ IL. I have not reached out to her as of yet‚ I am still processing and scared. A good friend of mine may reach out to her on my behalf this next week as he gave a baby girl up for adoption in the 70’s and can connect with Sue from the perspective of a birth parent who placed their child up for adoption. My hope in posting this is that someone in this group may know Sue. I know it is probably a longshot but you never know. Thank you.
