I was born June 11‚ 1951 at the now-demolished Sara Mayo Hospital in New Orleans‚ Louisiana. I was adopted from the Protestant Home for Babies. I am Caucasian‚ and I learned from my adoptive parents that my birth mother was 25 and my birth father was 29 when I was born. The name given to me at the Protestant Home for Babies was Yvonne‚ and my adoptive mother suspected that the name Yvonne was my birth mother’s first name. My birth parents were married‚ but I think they were divorcing. Because I was born to a married couple‚ I was not adoptable for several months while a search was conducted to locate my birth father. My birth mother stated that she thought he had relocated to Florida. My birth parents would be quite on in years‚ but perhaps I have siblings?
