Hello‚ my name is Mellissa (Mel) Perkes‚ I’m 33 yo and originally from Fleetwood‚ Lancashire and now live in Bradford‚ West Yorkshire. I’m searching for my half-sister who would have been adopted 2007-2008. She was registered as Katy Louise Hughes‚ assuming at least the surname would have changed since. Katy was born 08/06/2006 at Blackpool Victoria hospital and will be 18 at the time of writing this (July 2024). We share the same birth mother‚ as well as a younger brother on my side‚ and also multiple half-siblings on Katy’s dad’s side. Her biological parents are Amanda Russell and Robert Hughes. I met Katy once when she was around 6 months old‚ she had strawberry blonde‚ fine hair and big blue eyes. I have a few photos of her from this day. The reason I’m searching is for personal curiosity and I’m not searching on anyone else’s behalf. If by chance I happen to get in touch with Katy or anyone with a connection‚ I would only share knowledge/details with others if requested and not without both parties’ consent. Even then‚ it would only be with our brother‚ I’m not in contact with our birth mother‚ Katy’s father or relatives on their sides (for good reason lol). A little bit more about me: I’m very empathetic and considerate of others‚ especially when it comes to wellbeing and welfare. I work full-time in private office/diary management. I don’t have/want children‚ out of choice. I love music and have an eclectic taste in genres but a long-standing obsession with Gaga :). I tend to cycle between hobbies but some are gaming‚ crocheting‚ films & TV and attempting to make "music". Also have a good/weird sense of humour‚ bit of a wind-up merchant and try not to take life too seriously (that’s so cliché‚ ha).
