I gave birth to a baby boy on 19 January 1978, at Greys Hospital, Pietermaritzburg, at 6pm in the evening. He was taken from me within a few days of his birth.I have written to the Adoption Agency every year, with my updated information, but only every receive a standard letter saying that they have not had an enquiry from him regarding his birth mother. As much as I have no right to know, I’m desperate to know that he has had a happy life, and that the pressure to give him up for adoption was the right thing to do.
