So looking for my half sister since I knew she existed… My mother was young (born 01/09/1950) and social workers would not allow my mother to keep her baby (financially and age/ they didn’t think my mother and her mother (a single parent) could support a baby - the baby/ my sister would have been born in 1966 or 1967 after my mum spent time in a home for unwed mothers the baby girl would have been adopted from Addington Hospital in Natal (renamed to Kwazulu-Natal)‚ Durban South Africa. My mom named the baby Yvette (although it’s unknown if the name would have been kept) We received a letter in the post when I was in my teens.. the letter was angry and said that a private detective had been hired to find my mom and that we would never see her again (she had married her school professor and had two sons) - I chose not to give the letter to my mom… If you are out there please make contact‚ I would imagine there are lots of negative stories you tell yourself to understand why you might have been given up for adoption - they are all wrong!! You were loved by mom from the moment she set eyes on you (loved by me too that’s why I’ve been searching for you for so long!!)
