I believe adoption came through the Catholic Church‚ perhaps they were assisting unwed mothers back in the day. I have no idea if there ever was an initial name given at birth by the birth parent. Carolyn is the name given by adopting parents no idea what name‚ if any‚ was ever given by birth mother. This was an infant adoption‚ not a two or three year old. While I believe the birth occurred in or near Louisville‚ Kentucky‚ it could have been elsewhere.
