I am in search of information about my maternal grandmother’s birth parents. Lois Garnet Mitchell (her adopted name, was born in 1910, in either Kentucky, Ohio, or Indiana. I have taken DNA tests at both Ancestry and 23&Me, and have many matches in the Kentucky area, but cannot pinpoint which two people in my tree were her actual parents, or the situation that led up to her adoption. I have contacted most matches, if they are on social media or dna sites, but to no avail. No one has any knowledge or information regarding her adoption. The areas where both of the families resided were Estill county and Jackson County, Kentucky as well as Butler, Hamilton, OH area. The names of the families that my DNA matches have in their trees are Wells/Richardson and Barker/White. There are many many more names that stem from those two families, but those seem to be the two main connections.
