I am seeking to find out the identity of (birth name) ‚ and other information about‚ the birth parents/siblings of my father‚ Franklin Tyrell Welsch. My father was born on September 17‚ 1911‚ in Newport‚ Campbell County‚ KY. I do not know the year of his adoption. My mother‚ Audrey Elizabeth Furr Welsch‚ (deceased since 1997) did say that she thought he was older than an infant when he was adopted and that the birth family had other children besides my father. We have no other information about his birth parents. My father died in 1972‚ and both of his adoptive parents have been dead for many‚ many years. I am looking for genealogical information for my children and grandchildren. Both adoptive parents (Harry Jonty Welsch and Amelia Bertha Knell Welsch) were born in Cincinnati‚ Ohio. The 1910 Census identifies their address at 9b Eastar Ave.‚ Cincinnati Ward 2‚ Hamilton‚ Ohio. They do not appear in the 1920 Census. To my knowledge‚ the adoptive parents did not have other children from whom to get information. My father and his adoptive parents lived in Ohio until 1919‚ when they moved to London‚ Ontario‚ Canada‚ for employment. They do appear in the 1921 Census of Canada. Their address at that time was: House number 52‚ 543 York St.‚ London‚ Ontario‚ Canada. Additional Census information: Enumeration district 101‚ Ward 3‚ Sub district number 33‚ Enumerator: G.H. Poole‚ Line number 16‚ Family Number 53. They returned to the USA before the 1930 Census in the USA. Their address in the 1930 Census was 227 Fosdick St. Cincinnati‚ Ohio. My father was in the military (Army) during WWII. His registration date was: 16 Oct 1940 and his enlistment date was in 1943 (Fort Meyer‚ VA). In 1940 he lived at 3445 14th St. NW‚ Washington‚ DC. At the time of his registration‚ he worked for the Veteran’s Administration (Vermont and H St). By the 1950 Census‚ Franklin lived with my mother and me at: 1445 Park Road‚ Apt. 406‚ dwelling number 54‚ Washington‚ DC. When he enlisted‚ we were living in Prince George’s County‚ MD.
