Adopted by William Carlyle Yaple 1899-1982 and Olive Prescott Yaple (Harris) 1902-1987. William and Olive adopted my grandfather and his brother. 1950 census shows Billy age 8 and Dennis age 9. The 1950 census also shows Dennis born in state of Washington‚ Billy born in Kansas. I believe the names were changed after adoption. The story was‚ William and Olive lost their first son (William Dean Yaple) from a fire at 2 years old. I’m not positive on the age of adoption‚ but my mother remembers being told my grandfather and his brother were at the ages of 5 and 6 at adoption. I am a grandson of William James Yaple (Billy)‚ son of Kimberly Ann Waldrop (Yaple). I would like to use this information to search the history of my mother’s‚ father’s side of the family. Any help would be very appreciated.
