My father was born in Wichita‚ Kansas November 17th 1956. He was adopted as Baby Boy Phelps. His mother answered an add in the paper placed by his adoptive parents Bruce and Melba Updegrove. Adoption took place on January 11‚ 1957 in Sedgwick county in the Probate court under judge James V.Riddel Jr. His Adoptive parents lawyer was Lester A. Holloway. The story told by my adoptive grandmother is his biological mother was very young having an affair with an older married superior. Biological mother tried to get him back around 4 months of age but did not succeed. Look for any family members that may have information.
