I am looking for my father’s birth family. I have very little information but I know that his birth cert says he was born in Hayes County Oklahoma. His adopted parents were Clyda Hester Denney and Albert Louis Turner. They were married in Oklahoma when they were both 19 years old. The story goes that they wanted to adopt a baby and were told that one was available but that they’d have to move to Kansas to wait for the child to be available. The 1930 US Census shows that they lived in Lincoln Township‚ Butler County‚ Kansas. So perhaps he was adopted in Butler County‚ Kansas. Records show that by 1935 they were living back in Mayes County‚ Oklahoma‚ which was their usual residence. Also‚ based on familial DNA matches from my AncestryDNA test‚ I found that I am biologically related to both the Jones family of Oklahoma/Arkansas and the Goodwin family also of Oklahoma/Arkansas. I found records showing a Willie Goodwin b. abt 1912 in Oklahoma‚ married a Roy Jones in 1927 in Haskell County‚ Oklahoma. I have found no birth records but I did find that by 1931 Willie had passed away and in the 1930 US Census‚ Roy is listed twice‚ once living in Bearden Twshp‚ Okfuskee County‚ Oklahoma listed as ’son-in-law’ living with Willie’s father‚ Tom Goodwin‚ and lists Roy as ’Married’ this census was taken on April 14‚ 1930. Also in the 1930 US Census‚ Roy Jones was living in Diamond Twshp‚ Haskell County‚ Oklahoma‚ listed as ’son’ living with his father‚ Riley C Jones‚ Roy is listed as ’Widowed’ and has two small children‚ Lora M Jones‚ 2yr5mo‚ and Fred L Jones‚ 4mo.. I suspect that ’Fred L Jones’ is my father‚ living with his birth father‚ Roy Jones‚ and his birth grandfather‚ Riley C Jones. Any info I can get will be greatly appreciated!
