My road to adoption took some turns along the way. I was born in Richmond‚ CA “on or about” the 24th of July‚ 1949. I had no birth certificate on record in California or Kansas. My adoptive parents were able to get a birth certificate in the state of Kansas. The “mother” I had for the first seven years stated she was a foster mother. I remember living in Wichita‚ KS when little and being in Brookville‚ KS until the end of 2nd grade. After that‚ I was adopted by my teacher and her husband and living in Salina‚ KS Unfortunately I have lost my adoption papers which had some information plus my birth certificate. Searches through the State of Kansas hasn’t been helpful trying to find birth certificate and Saline County District court can’t locate adoption papers.
