I'm searching for my family lineage. My Great-great-grandmother‚ Harriet Brinkerhoff Brewster (dob 5/23/1907) was born to a Johanna Peterson (or Petersen) who later married someone with the last name "Saffer." Harriet was born in Emporia‚ KS and then adopted by the Kansas Children's Home Society (unknown date) and then adopted by Schuyler Colfax Brewster and Ruth Plumb Brewster on 9/18/1909. She is now deceased but i'd like to find out her heritage for my family as I know it was important to her. I see Emporia and Iola menioned in documents. Her mom (who adopted her) was the daughter of Senator Preston B. Plumb of Emporia‚ Kansas.
