I was born in Iowa City (Johnson County) at 12:09 pm. The adoption agency was Iowa Lutheran Social Services. I was adopted within a few months (why the delay?) and raised in the Clinton, Iowa area. Non-identifying info: My birth mother was 26 y/o. She was the 2nd of 11 children. She was a farm worker w/ an 8th grade education. She was of Irish descent. She gave birth to a son in 1951. She gave him up for adoption. She later gave birth to two other sons, in 1953 & 1955, but kept them. Although we had different fathers, the case worker noted that we all had red hair & blue eyes. My birth father was 48 y/o. He was listed as a farm worker w/ an 8th grade education. They noted (in the words of the times) that he had "some Indian blood". My parents are probably dead, but I would be very interested in connecting w/ any surviving half-siblings that my parents had, together or separately, and/or their descendants. We don’t have to meet if you don’t want to, but it would be nice to make some kind of connection or information swap. Thanks :)
