My father Gerald Dean (likely his birth first and middle name and adopted name) was adopted from the Annie Wittenmyer home in Davenport Iowa sometime after 1936 and before 1940, I would guess around 1938. He was born April 1, 1936. I have had a search angel help me and I know one set of his grandparents were Nims/Wickham, they had three sons so that means his biological last name is Wickham. I have also through DNA narrowed down my Dad’s mother’s side of the family. The names Renz and/or Prahm (Prehm) are definitely in his ancestry on that side. UPDATE: The father is Wickham (Carlton, William or Orin - most likely Carlton) and the mother’s maiden name was Prahm, first name Hazel. However she was going by her first husband’s name at the time of the adoption Shaffer. I’m looking for my first cousins..names would be Shaffer, DeSoltel and more.
