My Great Grandma who is Native American Indigenous Blackfeet/Blackfoot was adopted by the Walker family back in 1895 at Ft. Dodge in Iowa‚ she would have been around 2 yrs of age we think. As for any information regarding her past before them adopting her is what I am searching for. I understand she was with several other families before the Walkers adopted her. She did marry a man by the name of John Harrison Welch II. As for her exact date of birth‚ well we think it may not be exact as records showing exact dates of birth were not kept by tribes back then‚ so I am told. I was also told she and a brother were sent to Ft. Dodge as orphans back then.
