On February 20, 1969, my mother was 18 and had a baby at Parkview Hospital in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. She stayed in a facility run by the United Church of Christ called The Fort Wayne Children’s Home, Woodhaven Center. My mother left the facility seven days after she delivered the baby. In researching, I learned this facility helped over 1,000 single mothers place their infants in adoptive homes, many within the church system. I have no other siblings and in light of my mom’s recent passing, I would like very much to connect if my sibling would like to do so.
