I was born on June 4, 1963 in Elkhart General Hospital, Elkhart, Indiana. My birthmother was 24 and born in Oklahoma. There is no mention of my birthfather. I believe the attending physician was Dr. Robert Abel (deceased) of Wakarusa, Indiana. My adoption records are on file with the Indiana Department of Health and I’m waiting for them to open the files for me so that I can have identifying/non-identifying information and a copy of my original birth certificate. I remained in the hospital for nearly 2 weeks until my adoption was legalized. My birthmother may have been a dental hygienist.
