Clarence Jay" born July 2‚ 1902 Indianapolis‚ Dr. Snoke attending. Was adopted by Judge Alva Jay at age (4 , 8)‚ who was the director of the Indianapolis Poor Asylum prior relocating to Rensselaer‚ IN. Clarence recalls seeing his younger sister being adopted firstly‚ exiting with her family through the iron gates and into city traffic. Despite this closed adoption he says his sister came to him one time while he was attending briefly at Butler U. Never again. Whether by her or by adopted parents supposedly he heard his parents were European immigrants. Father was killed in a trolley accident‚ mother went insane‚ got institutionalized and then deported. Birth date was learned when Clarence had to file to comply with WWII enlistment. Rensselaer court considers adoption can’t be opened‚ Indy says archive records from that time period were lost in a fire.
