I just found out that my mother gave birth to a son in Indianapolis before she met my father. This would have been in 1967 or 1968. She gave the baby up for adoption at birth‚ to an adoption agency that is reported to be no longer in business. My mother‚ Janet Lechner‚ passed away in 1984 and I found out about the adoption this year from her sister/my aunt. My father passed away in 2000 and I’m not sure if he ever knew about the birth. My mother was born in Kokomo‚ Indiana‚ and went to Indiana to have the baby. My mother would have been around 27-28 years old when she gave birth.
