Her name is Joan Catherine Bell born in Garrett‚ IN Jan. 13th 1938. I have the birth certificate. The adoption was through Associated Catholic Charities and was in Aug. of 1939. We found the mother on Catherine’s birth certificate and her name is Mary Madeline Dowling who was born and grew up in Decatur‚ IN. She moved with her family to Ft. Wayne‚ IN where we believe she became pregnant for Catherine. She is a white female born July 2nd‚ 1917 to William and Emma Dowling. She died in Gary‚ IN on 7-14-66. We are looking for the father...the birth certificate says she was born Jan. 13th 1938 at Sacred Heart Hospital and they named her Patricia Ann Dowling. The birth was in Dekalb county and the city was Garrett‚ IN. The post office address for Mary Dowling was in Ft. Wayne‚ IN. She was a clerk at an Advertising Agency. Now for the father who we are trying to find. His name is on the birth certificate “Sharles Wildrick” with a post office address in Ft. Wayne‚ IN. He is a white male and at the time of Catherine’s birth he was 23 years old (according to the birth certificate. He was a clerk in a store at that time and “time spent in this work 3 yes.” Per the certificate. I feel the Associated Catholic Charities would have more information since the adoption was done through them. I heard they had counselors that took notes and obtained information that is hopefully saved. Let me know if you need anything else!
