Updated 06/2024: I am searching for my brother who was born on 06/28/1971 at 2:39am at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne‚ Indiana. Our mother was 16 and not given the option of keeping him. His adoption was coordinated through Lutheran Social Services of Fort Wayne. He was placed in a foster home (with the Benecke family) on 7/2/71 and I am not sure when he was adopted. I know that his adoptive parents were both born in Indiana‚ both white‚ and at least one of them born in 1946. I suspect they were Lutheran‚ too. I do know that his adoptive parent’s conceived a child shortly after his adoption‚ and that son is still in touch with my brother. His adoptive parents divorced several years later and the father eventually remarried‚ although I’m sure if his mother ever did. Both parents are now deceased. I believe my brother (and his brother) still live in Indiana although I am not sure. I learned of my brother 2 years ago and have been searching for him since. I want to respect his need for space‚ privacy‚ time‚ and any boundaries he has. I dream of one day having a friendship with him‚ in whatever capacity he desires. I am relieved to have recently found out that he is still alive‚ and understand why he might not want to have any contact with any bio family. If he ever sees this‚ I hope it might inspire him to reach out and give some communication a chance. I am 35‚ female‚ and live in WA state. I am married with a small child. The profile picture is a recent picture of me. I would love nothing more than to hear from my brother or anyone who knows him. - Erin
